2-26-12 Car cover

Used the car cover today for the first time. WOW this is the best cover i have ever owned. Fits like a glove and has fitted pockets for mirrors and antenna. Cover goes down to about 4 inches above ground.

2-20-12 Shes GONE

Well today was bitter sweet. I delivered my car to Walmart and met with Peter (owner operator of Perfect way trans. inc) He is from Poland (accent reminded me of Arnold Schwarzenegger) He was very professional and seemed to be trustworthy. as you can see from the pictures he was hauling lots of $$ (Porsche, Audi, BMW) all were going to California. I was sorry to see her loaded but am Excited for Aaron. He will love the car. I told him if i seen it dirty I would fly out there and kick his butt!!

Here is the transport and a Pic of the Cobra's Company for the next few days.

I did a pre ship walk around to make sure that no new scratches or dings show up for Aaron.

Here she is being loaded.

I really liked the Cobra but i knew it was time to move one. I will miss the tire shredding HP and the neck Breaking Torque. But the New Boss has More than that. It is so stable and such a complete package that i cant put it in to words. The Boss is just BAD ASS plain and simple.
It has beaten tons of very expensive track cars that are 15K more and up.
here is a link to Top Gear. They tracked a N.A. Boss 302 and a New Roush SC 427 and the Boss came out on top. it is near the end they run them. but over all this is a good episode.

2-17-12 First day at work and some Parnelli Jones

This morning I drove it to work. Marley's car seat fit just fine!! I love the old school Growl that the opened Quads make. To best describe it, it almost sounds like old school meets a higher pitched high revving exotic car. Again this thing is on rails.
I started to hear a rattle from under my door and new exactly what it was. I need to readjust the driver Quad pipe. When I bolted it back on the angle is too close to the floor board and it was rattling on it.
Took the LONG way back to work. It is beautiful today.
My son Aaron and his wife got there ultra sound (first one) done today and he texted me a picture. Very cool, He and his twin are both expecting (in late summer)

Today I sent off an email to try to get Parnelli Jones Autograph. For those not in the know, he is the one who won the trans am Champion ship in 1970 in a Boss 302. He also won his first race out in a Boss at Laguna Seca back in 1969 and Barely lost the 69 championship. I knew he was part owner of VPJ racing. I sent an email not expecting anything back. but by 10 AM I got a reply from a Jim Dilamarter, who is his partner. I told them i would make a donation if Parnelli signed the plate. Jim gave me the address and and told me thanks for the donation and that he would have Parnelli sign it. I did some more sleuthing and found out that the guy I was talking to was a Indy 500 car winning crew chief!!!! He was chief on the 70/71 Indy Champ Al Unser.
WOW! I further found out that Parnelli won the Indy 500 in 63 and as a part owner in 70 and 71 and the USAC championship from 71-73.
I think when I mail the panel I will get Jim Autograph too on something else.
WOW what a day!!

2-16-12 Finally started it without the Plates in the Quades

So Tonight I got to start it so I could move the car out and my wife's in to change the oil.
WOW big difference. When it was corked the car was WAY too Quiet. No with them un corked It added a nice growl to it. and when it gets to the higher RPM sounds a little exotic. Posted below are 3 vids.

Stock from the back

Uncorked Back

Uncorked Quads

My Son Corey came over and we drove in it to pick up my daughter Shelby who was at Volleyball and She loved the ride back!!
After I got back i did a quick detail spray down and she really shines!!

Tomorrow I will drive it to work and reports more.

2-14-12 First Mod

Tonight I removed the restrictor plates off of the Quad exhaust. It was very easy. 6- 15mm bolts and about 10 minutes. I havent started it up yet as it was almost 11 pm when i got a chance to do it.
Here is a pic of the plates.

Here are a few more pics i just downloaded from my camera the day i was picking her up.
I found a site that you can put your vin number in and it will give you a PDF of your window sticker.
It turns out my car was built on Columbus day October 12th 2011. Also known as NED Jarrett's Birthday (NASCAR Champion and Dale Jarrett's dad). for those interested here is the link for the site.

2-11-12 First day

This is my 2012 Boss 302 These pictures above are as she sat in the Dealership, But to back track a little I actually lucked in to finding this one. I had searched Auto Trader.com for 3 plus weeks most everyone had the price at MSRP or better. I started my search and limited the number of miles to 900. then i thought, Do i really want to drive it 900 miles home?. I then changed it to 300 and Found a few with this change. One was in Dwight IL and the other Macomb IL. I email them to see what they could do for the price and one came back at MSRP and the other immediately came down 3G. So 24 Hrs later I was at the latter dealership and place 1G down to hold, 1 week later I was driving it home.

In the mean time My son Aaron had purchased my 2004 Cobra.

I am now working with him and a Shipper to get it out to California to him.
This thing was VERY fast, it has the 4.6L SC engine with my mods it had 453/491 tq.
My Boss now sits in my garage waiting for the snow to go and nice warm weather. It has 107 miles on it right now (trip home) Wow this thing is on rails (played a lil on the way home) even got 4 thumbs ups.
To night I intend on doing my first Mod (uncorking the quad exhaust) as far as more go fast stuff? It will have to wait. I am not going to mess with the warranty thing for a while.
Her she is.....

Here is a walk around of the car.

I currently have another Mustang too, a 1970 Mach 1 with less than 25K miles on it. I bought it back in 85 and I have put less than 200 miles on it. It was a shell when I received it and have been slooooowly putting it back together. This past year I purchased a new interior and rewired the whole car with a Painless kit, redid the rear end and put a 3.73 31 spline Detroit locker together. Once the headliner is installed I will put the interior back in and enjoy it for a while before it gets painted and is finished.
Here is a pic. and a vid. The Vid is before I fixed a small problem. the head gasket was on backwards and was blocking the cooling ports. This is the reason I never drove it. but it took years to find this out. i had the heads magnufluxed and checked for straightness and they came back great. I put new Felpro blue gaskets on and now it runs 1000 % better.
